another thing that looks interesting to try out at some point. speed painting, starting from scratch in photoshop and using colour palettes and opacity to create the look of a painting using light play.
i found this example by Levente Peterffy. the first link directs you to the tutorial of this painting. it holds some interesting hints and tips if you are also interested in making something like this. i plan to get hold of some software soon and spend a good few hours at my computer playing around with ideas.
